Smiles Avenue is currently seeking a proficient and compassionate dental receptionist/assistant to complement our team. Our ideal candidate will contribute to the efficiency and comfort of our office environment while adhering to dental office protocols. Demonstrating adeptness in patient care and ensuring seamless office operations are key attributes we seek.

Responsibilities:

  • Warmly greet patients upon their arrival at the dental office.
  • Schedule appointments for patients and manage appointment calendars.
  • Maintain accurate patient accounts and records.
  • Prepare and dispatch patient invoices.
  • Process patient insurance claims efficiently.
  • Assist patients in completing necessary intake and medical documentation.
  • Confirm appointments with patients through phone or email correspondence.
  • Facilitate specialist referrals and manage related documentation.
  • Provide information on payment options to patients, as required.
  • Monitor office supplies inventory and initiate procurement when necessary.
  • Undertake basic accounting duties, including processing patient payments and generating billing statements.
  • Update patient insurance details as needed.
  • Ensure proper functioning of all dental office equipment.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, maintaining organizational efficiency.
  • Supervise petty cash resources within the dental office.
  • Uphold the professional appearance and orderliness of the reception area.

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Reliable and well-organized.
  • High school diploma; completion of dental assistant school preferred.
  • Additional certification, such as a radiograph license, is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Spanish preferred.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week
